Chocolate-Covered Pretzels

chocolate covered pretzel sticks with sprinkles

Chocolate-covered pretzels, combine the best of two worlds: salty and sweet. They also look amazing in a Purim mishloach manot basket, too. Especially when topped off with colorful sprinkles.

But there’s another bonus to making these salty-sweet treats. They’re easy to make and your kids will love making them with you. It’s a great way to open a conversation about Purim and why we make and give michlochei manot.

Chocolate-Covered Pretzels

Yield: 24

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chocolate or white chocolate melting wafers or 2 cups chocolate or white chocolate chips plus 1 T. shortening
  • 24 pretzel sticks
  • Sprinkles

Method:

  1. Cover a cookie sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Place chocolate wafers into microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Swirl the pretzel sticks into the chocolate, so a portion is coated in chocolate. Sprinkle with sprinkles and set on wax-paper lined cookie sheet to set up.
  4. Once pretzels are dry, store in an airtight container at room temperature. The pretzels should keep their crunch for at least a week, and probably longer.
